This Package 03:41
Take me down a notch and take me further still. They wonder if you'll hurt me bad. I say I know you will. Can it be the truth that there is nothing left between the two old friends who cannot bear to say a thing they mean? Bring me down a bit and bring me down some more. I wonder if I'll let you lie enough to let me score. Can it be the truth that there is nothing left that's clean enough for us to want to stay and linger in-between? Take this package. Don't you dare unwrap it. Early is as lately does, so please just take it. Please just take your baggage. Don't you dare unstrap it now. Lately I just feel that earlier I would have carried it. Let me down a ways and leave me down below. You wonder if I've seen enough to let you know I know. Can it be the truth that there is nothing left that means as much for us as all the nightmares both of us have dreamed? Take this package. Don't you dare unwrap it. Early is as lately does, so please just take it. Please just take your baggage. Don't you dare unstrap it now. Lately I just feel that earlier I would have carried it.

Woah, Amanda! Give me some of that good magic. Woah, Amanda! Give me some of that good magic. I sure could use some Amanda. Some of the kids think you can fly. They say they saw you soaring' by last Tuesday night up in the sky under a full moon. Is that really true, Amanda? Nothin' changes in this neighborhood. God, it's so boring I could die. If you think you can fix me, I wish that you would. Then I'd have a reason. Do you think you could do that, Amanda? Woah, Amanda! Give me some of that good magic. Woah, Amanda! Give me some of that good magic. I sure could use some Amanda. Mix me up some magic, Amanda I'm so mixed up, Amanda Mix me up some magic, Amanda I'm so mixed up, Amanda Mix me up, mix me up I'm so mixed up Since I took your elixir things are turning' around. I got some color in my eyes. She's a genuine fixer flying' up in the sky under a full moon. I love what you do Amanda.

A pipe exploded, something’s eroded there’s water seeping down in the wall “I hadn’t noticed,” she duly noted. “Honest, I feel nothing at all.” La la la la la la la la I pulled the fridge out just a smidge now to see how bad it looked from the side “It’s probably nothing,” she said, “But something is darkened and wide.” There’s water in these walls So much water, too much water in these walls There’s water in these walls Just get a grip now, we’ve gotta rip out everything and start over dry “I know we need to,” she said, “The bleed-through is spreading and it’s making me cry.” La la la la la la la la I’ll tear our walls down, our cares will fall down I’ll finish what I started back then “I think I’m ready,” she said and led me into the kitchen again There’s water in these walls So much water, too much water in these walls There’s water in these walls We got a serious problem in our walls (too much water) We got a serious problem in our walls (too much water) We got a serious problem “I just can’t fix it,” she said, “so let’s get a brand new house and start over dry I guess that’s something, better than nothing but I’ll be keeping an eye out For the water in these walls So much water, too much water in these walls There’s water in these walls

Miss Nebraska was a beauty queen; left the farm for a rider of the purple sage. But good men are few and far between, none of her soul and always twice her age. Everything’s boring when you’re constantly soaring up and away. Gentle Jonathan was a healing man riding west on a horse he called Jupiter. If anyone can fix you, Johnny can; mend her broken heart and ride along through to get her back up and soaring; picture-perfect days pouring down again. There’s a sweet end to your sorrowful tale All you need are four legs that won’t fail you. Sleep, Jupiter, sleep. Jupiter, sleep. While the stars waltz above you. Sleep, Jupiter, sleep. Jupiter, sleep. Jonathan loves you. Well, Gentle Jonathan had to sail away on a dark ship to an island where it’s always spring And Miss Nebraska just dreams all day of a sun-sweetened morning when she’ll get to sing “Life wasn’t boring because you kept me soaring.” And she prays Sleep, Jupiter, sleep. Jupiter, sleep. While the stars waltz above you. Sleep, Jupiter, sleep. Jupiter, sleep. Jonathan loves you.

The complications that we got, we can't shake 'em. It's just the long way 'round again. I'm outta patience when you stop short of saving me. Our bedroom's kinda silent like an auction but no one buys the scene - unless it sells for free. Is it even half as hard as we make it? We play grown-up like a child. We might as well join the ranks of the young and free. There's only one patch of grass worth protectin' and that's where we can both run wild. So what's it gonna be? Say you'll be mine Say you'll be mine Forever and all time Say you'll be mine Say you'll be mine That's all I need to hear from you and I know everything will be fine. If you'll stay with me and say you'll be mine. What if I said that I knew your secret? Would you look behind my ears and find the soft place where I've been hiding all my dreams? Some of the lies that your Mom and Dad told you are just a glass vase crashing down. But it's the flowers that you need. Say you'll be mine Say you'll be mine Forever and all time Say you'll be mine Say you'll be mine That's all I need to hear from you and I know everything will be fine. If you'll stay with me and say you'll be mine. A boy and girl get together in the corner and let the whole room go to waste. They think the walls and the wood floor cannot see. Well, they can dance that waltz if they wanna but when it comes time for the bow I hope you'll bend with me. Say you'll be mine Say you'll be mine Forever and all time Say you'll be mine Say you'll be mine That's all I need to hear from you and I know everything will be fine. If you'll stay with me and say you'll be mine.

You've got a lovely garden. It must have taken you a while to grow it -- tall and handsome and held for ransom whenever I come around. It's picturesque, that's for certain. But as you draw the curtain closed I'm hurtin.' Well, I've got my wild side, too, you know. So vintage and classic I have to stop and cough up my last breath because as opportunity passes by I drink in the want of her violet eyes. You know something that I don't or can't or won't or shouldn't even try to discern. When will my distant and proud heart learn? I'm older by 4 years. I'm older by 4 years than you. I'm older by 4 years. I'm older by 4 years, it's true. I'm older by 4 years. There's a restaurant you've never been to, so there's a chance we could meet on a Monday; sip soda and slip out the back door watching over shoulders for anybody who could get word back to you that there's too much for us to do that we might just have to jump and break through that wall 'round your lovely garden. I'm older by 4 years. I'm older by 4 years than you. I'm older by 4 years. I'm older by 4 years, it's true. I'm older by 4 years.

Here is a new leitmotif for the age of disgrace so the sad and dark shadows can pull the sun off their face and die down, die down, die down throwing themselves on a furious mountain of snow. Remember now, remember now that maybe we do know the right way to go. Oh, to get swallowed and swirl away into my dreams of what's good. Take your place in the theatre empty seats running in circles and then someone jumps in waving their hands in a misfit's rage, being caged, they can't tell when the right time has come to rip apart stars and throw them off cliffs by a shivering sea that's a soup of fake lives crying mouths forming "o"s lamenting everything they used to be. Oh, to get swallowed and swirl away into my dreams of what's good. I am the president I'll make a declaration of myself I am the rightful king conquering everything of me on the shelf At the consoles of rocket ships thousands of candidates teem toward the black. And, I among them, holding my wife and son program the one I'm in not to come back; streaking on course, bound for a colony where all my fantasies sell out the first night to a fandom of brothers in a frenzy of ritual tabloid blood spilled for discovering what's right. Oh, to get swallowed and swirl away into my dreams of what's good. I am the president I'll make a declaration of myself I am the rightful king conquering everything of me on the shelf I am the emperor I control all the jewels I will display I am the universe creating the work of my God in one day.

At the end of the street there’s a house dressed in red with violets and daffodils on the lawn. A girl moved in today. When I found out, I went outside to go for a walk down the block just so I could say, “Valerie, may I spend the whole day by your side? I know we could fly! Valerie, say I can wonder and play ’til you’re tired. I think we should try!” She told me, “Hurry inside! We’ve got no time to lose! Lovers like us can’t wait for the night!” Her lips were cinnamon flame. When I found out, she pulled me aside to lay for awhile in her arms. “Valerie, may I spend the whole day by your side? I know we could fly! Valerie, say I can wonder and play ’til you’re tired. I think we should try!” At the end of the lawn under a blanket of stars both of us smile and the universe bends. We did a lot today. We both found out something’s blooming inside. We’ll stay for awhile on the block … “Valerie, may I spend the whole day by your side? I know we could fly! Valerie, say I can wonder and play ’til you’re tired. I think we should try!”

Summer Camp 03:25
When we were young we ran around a summer camp outside of town Out by the pool I drew you in chalk; tried to convince you to take a walk While all the cabins went to bed we made a break for my car instead Be careful! You might not last the day! Be careful! You might not last the day! When you’re with her it’s all understood When she leaves it don’t feel like it should So be careful! You might not last the day! And by the river where the trees stretched out you told me what your heart hurt about I dried your tears right before the dawn and you walked back with my sweatshirt on Now I can’t wait until you’re back around that summer camp outside of town

Autumn and Eliot Here’s a love story you ain’t heard yet So unlikely that it’s hard to forget Autumn and Eliot Their first kiss was in the backyard while her mom was making lemonade She couldn’t see behind her back but under the shady trees He lit a fire in her eyes and she laughed ‘cuz she was so surprised Sometimes it happens just like that Autumn and Eliot Here’s a love story you ain’t heard yet So unlikely that it’s hard to forget Autumn and Eliot Their first goodbye was in the sixth grade His dad was moving for a job The summer fluttered by so fast but on the last night they took a walk She said “Remember me when you’re gone.” He whispered “I won’t be very long.” Sometimes it wraps up just like that Autumn and Eliot Here’s a love story that ain’t done yet So unlikely that it’s hard to forget Autumn and Eliot What captures a heart when you’re so young and holds it captive for life? You don’t need to fight it when it’s not wrong What happens when two little souls hold the universe right in their hands? Maybe it’s part of a plan Their second hello was in the airport while they were running for their planes A kismet collision in the hall and as they gathered their scattered things she was surrounded by his stare He whispered “I didn’t see you there.” Sometimes it happens just like that Autumn and Eliot There’s a love story you’ll never forget Got a feeling you ain’t seen nothing yet with Autumn and Eliot

This is a song for Edison. My fierce independence, my obstinate grinding and all of my sad devotionals, bookended days never intertwining with brothers and sisters. I had a multitude gathered. But I would have rather walked on alone. No poet could pen you. No sculptor could cast you from the clay of the earth. You know that you've been immaculate -- coddled and cleansed since the day of your birth. There's magic in starting. I'm never departing without you. I won't forget about you or leave you alone. Your eyes are my lifeblood. Your smile is a circus. And your laughter peals across fields of the dead and make naysayers nervous because they can't catch you. I'll bet you they can't handle heaven. That's why they're trembling as you spin and sing. You're so strong and smart now, with the soul of a soldier. You lead me on wonderful magical marches and I never get older with you in the picture. I'm pretty sure I am in love with you, high up above with you helping me fly. Ride on my shoulders and play with my chin 'til the sun goes to bed. Laugh 'til you cry and fall down on me hard and I'll cradle your head. I used to dream this. When I was a boy I could see you. I wish I could be you and just you alone.

Mara 03:00
Well it was a hell of a party, that’s true Summer and smoke sure go nice with the circle of friends around you and I didn’t have to think twice ‘cause I knew this play’s closing with a bad review I know what I gotta do Mara, Mara I wanna be where you are-uh Mara, Mara, I wanna be where you are-uh Well it was a heavenly wedding in blue Those flowers sure framed you up nice Some lucky fool’s arms around you and I didn’t want to look twice ‘cause I knew that he’s closing down the avenue I’m still gonna drive on through Mara, Mara I wanna be where you are-uh Mara, Mara I wanna be where you are-uh I could just avoid the aisle but I can’t back down Sit and suffer with a smile until you come around But it’s too late now Mara, Mara I wanna be where you are-uh

I'm done for. I'm bleeding. There's no way out of this mess but to die -- a lost cause conceding that I'll never walk again. Hazy ribbons of my last breath laugh at me from over my head. My skin's cold. I'm shaking. I hear you starting the car in the street. The ceiling is spinning and we'll never talk again. I'll suffocate in these sheets like a corpse that retreats into morning until I am dead. Tell Mom I'm sleeping 'til my heart turns off. There's no more reasons left to turn and cough. Say love is an ocean whose waters will keep me alive. Say love is an ocean. The night time, it drowns me. But that's no secret 'cause day after day my sore eyes get redder and I'll never cry again. Recklessly reeling without you to block me and keep me alive. Tell Mom I'm sleeping 'til my heart turns off. There's no more reasons left to turn and cough. Say love is an ocean whose waters will keep me alive. Say love is an ocean. I'm sorry. I'm broken. There's much better jewelry in your drawer than me. It's okay to wear it 'cause I'll never shine again. A boring story, I know, but the chandelier overhead was one of a kind. Tell Mom I'm sleeping 'til my heart turns off. There's no more reasons left to turn and cough.
